It is obvious that Russia needs an adequate system which supports the emergence of high-tech, globally competitive products. To reach this goal, it is important to develop effective partnerships between the private sector and academia. Business, as the main engine for innovations, will invest financial and physical resources into the most promising fields.

Such an open process cannot take place without thorough international engagement between Russia and the world.
